Let’s dance!

The Onlies are a fun band to watch, but they may be an even more fun band to dance to. Their next two public appearances will be at contra dance events. The first one is the venerable Lake City Contra/Old Time Country Dance on Thanksgiving Eve, Wednesday, November 23rd. They’re sharing the bill with two young people bands, with calling by (slightly older) young callers. Last year’s dance was a gas – the video evidence is below.

On Sunday, November 27th from 3p-6p, they’ll be playing for the Rainbow Contra Dance at Washington Hall in Central Seattle, not far from Riley Calcagno’s ancestral home. For this event, they are the only band, and are practicing lots of fun sets.

Joining the Onlies for these two dance gigs is their very favoritest bass player of all time, RuthMabel Boytz. She rocks!
